In Pursuit of Happyness
The Pursuit of Happyness
What an excellent film that brings to life my old high school motto.
"I have nothing to fear but my own failure."
This man overcomes every obstacle to make a bright future for him and his son. He's not sure if in the end he'll even get the job he seeks after months of hardship with to no little income. For me, this movie is about taking risks and having faith in yourself. There is a moment in the movie where they are at a prayer service and you can see in his eyes that he is begging the Lord for strength and courage. And throughout the movie he asks himself, is happiness actually achievable?
The serenity prayer is one of my favorites. I have it all around my house. It gives me calm in a house of chaos. (that reminds me, I wanna see "Get Smart" the movie)
Anyways, I really love this film inspired by a true story. It and the prayer are solid reminders that I need to cherish what I have and always be thankful to God for the blessings in my life. To go after my dreams, and trust that the Lord will get me there if it is His will for me. It helps me be at peace with the things out of my control.
