Our Blessed Mother Mary of May

Another blogger Jamie reminded me about this month of May being dedicated to Our Blessed Mother Mary. And the best way to reach Mary in prayer is through the rosary.

I prayed the rosary often with my family growing up. I have such positive flashbacks and blessings from my life of prayer. As I grew older, I grew tired and nodded off on occasion. My parents rotated saying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy in song to keep us kids alert - and because I love to sing. (To sing is to pray twice, right!?)

With a family of my own, my mind is racing all the time. I write "pray the rosary" on my school planner yet never get to it. I put a rosary on my car mirror for the long drives, but rarely say it.

In an effort to get with it - I bought a pocket ring rosary to bring with me to the gym. I intend to reach in my pocket while I walk a mile and pray.

I've gotten an ipod, and I am searching for good mp3 of the rosary and chaplet. Anyone here of a good one, or any at all? The chaplet below is just what I want, but can't find the mp3 or the album/artist name.

I need to make the effort, so I can introduce it to my family with ease. Thanks for the reminder, Jamie. May will be a great month to start.

Here are some of my finds:

HOW TO PRAY THE ROSARY

CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY

Eternal Father,
I offer You the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son
Our Lord Jesus Christ
in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion,
have mercy on us and on the whole word.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and the whole world

THE MEMORARE
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known
that anyone who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help,
or sought thine intercession
was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins, my mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy mercy hear and answer me.

Amen.

  1. Melissa,
    I just found a great one, Rosaryarmy.com
I don't have a ipod so have no idea even how they work!!

I love the rosary and pray often, but like you, have a hard time doing it with my family. I have taught them on the one decade rosaries, they love to pray a decade, yet, we rarely do it!! Satan is alive and attacking us mothers and our good intentions. I love to walk and pray the rosary, if you are on the treadmill at the gym, use a plastic rosary they work better than the little pocket ones, especially if you get sweaty like me!

Great post, thanks for visiting my blog, I will get you up on my blog soon, when I have some extra time to mess around with it!

Monday we are making one decade rosaries at Little Crowns, I'm in charge for May!!

    Hope to see you then!
